Shelley Baber, CSP

Shelley Baber is the Environmental, Health, and Safety Director for Eaton Corporation’s Electrical Engineering Services and Systems (EESS) Division, overseeing EHS operations across North America. In this role, Shelley has spent the past three years pursuing safety excellence and fostering a strong speak up culture within a complex, geographically diverse/dispersed organization.

With over two decades of experience in safety leadership, Shelley previously held progressive roles at FirstEnergy/Allegheny Energy, where she dedicated 20 years to advancing health and safety programs. She is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and a Master’s degree in Safety Management from West Virginia University.

Shelley’s commitment to safety extends beyond her professional responsibilities. She has served as Chair of the Board for Region III of the Voluntary Protection Program Participants Association (VPPPA), as a Director on the National Board, and as a Special Government Employee (SGE) for OSHA. Her contributions have earned her notable recognition, including being an inaugural recipient of the National Safety Council Rising Star of Safety Award and the FirstEnergy President’s Award for innovative public safety outreach.

Passionate about mentoring and developing future leaders, Shelley actively supports young professionals in the safety field. Outside of work, she enjoys volunteering with local organizations, traveling, cheering on college sports, and attending her children’s activities.
